Dance Instructors 

Interested in teaching for us?  We are always on the lookout for passionate, energetic, creative and experienced teachers to join our amazing faculty.  

We are currently hiring top notch, dedicated and experienced instructors who love to work with all ages and levels. We are looking for positive engaging teachers who want to work and love what they do.  Teachers should be able to motivate, excite and inspire students to develop their skills and become positive minded, confident dancers and leaders.  We need to fill positions for various genres of dance for our fall season.  

Our studio offers classes in creative dance, pre-ballet & tap combo, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop and modern in a non-competitive environment.  Classes are held Monday through Saturday during the school year, and Monday through Thursday during the summer.  Summer camps are held Monday through Thursday or Friday mornings.  Instructors should ideally be available at least two days a week including Saturdays.  Weekend availability is a plus. Ability to teach multiple genres is also a plus. Instructors must be able to commit to and complete the school year and attend all rehearsals, recitals, scheduled studio events and staff meetings. Substitute teachers are also needed.

Qualifications: Instructors should be technically proficient in the subjects that they teach, have good customer service skills, the ability to manage the classroom & work with children and adults of all ages, be able to develop and execute appropriate lesson plans & choreography, and be able to rehearse students to be well-prepared for performances.  



 

Customer Experience Specialist


Chesapeake Dance Center is a well-established, growing studio, and in search of a Customer Experience Specialist to join our team for the 2024/2025 season! This role is all about cultivating a seamless customer journey and experience for our studio families, both new and existing.

Our studio is located in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. Styles taught at our studio include: Creative Dance, Pre-ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern. Ages of students range from 3 years through to adults.

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications: 

  • Have a proven track record in sales and lead conversion.
  • Are skilled communicators.
  • Able to handle new inquiries online, in person and on the phone.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and personable.
  • Tech savvy.
  • Knowledgeable in various social media platforms and able to create and schedule social media posts to promote our program.
  • Creative, inventive, and excited about building systems and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Proactive and great at taking initiative.
  • Great with children.
  • Have a basic understanding of dance, skills, ages, class types, etc. 
  • Willing to attend special events such as community performances, recitals, staff meetings, etc.
  • Dependable, on time, prepared, organized, and thorough.
  • Able to provide their own transportation.

Ready to hire immediately if it is the right fit! Also, happy to discuss future start dates if need be. The position is part-time - afternoons and evenings during the week from 3:30 to approximately 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. and two to three Saturday mornings per month (8:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.) during the school year. Summer hours may also include some morning Dance Camp hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Enrollment Coordinator

Chesapeake Dance Center is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as our Enrollment Coordinator. 

Key Responsibilities:

This candidate is a high-energy, friendly, outgoing people-person that is not afraid of talking on the phone and meeting new people. The enrollment coordinator will work with the studio owner to ensure that current and new students alike are feeling welcomed as well as aware of all we have to offer. 


Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Have direct interaction with current and potential students and their families.
  • Continuously update and improve the studio welcome and onboarding packets.
  • Engage in daily administrative and customer service tasks (i.e., monitoring all inquiries, managing trials, and enrollments, on boarding, follow up calls, 90 day calls, re-enrollment at the end of the season, etc.)
  • Support the studio owner and other administrative staff in large projects and tasks
  • Candidates will have: 
    • A strong understanding of dance or arts-related education programing
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Be able to work independently and with limited supervision
    • Be available to work remotely and independently
    • Have reliable internet access
    • Candidate should have a firm understanding of Word, Excel, Google Docs, Forms, and Sheets

Key Priorities:

1. Fulfill student enrollment goals each season and year

2. Support new students and families through the enrollment and onboarding process

3. Continue to train, evaluate and update the studio’s enrollment and onboarding systems and processes with the owner
4. Meet and exceed enrollment goals set by studio owner on a quarterly basis 


Estimated Hours Per Week: 12-15 (commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day, flexible but to include some weekday afternoon/evenings and weekends; some work can be done remotely)
